All New 2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude
The all new 2021 Rocky Mountain Altitude is Rocky's key platform for enduro racing and aggressive trail riding. Ridden by the Rocky Mountain Race Face Enduro Team, this bike is fast. Already race proven with Jesse's win at the EWS in Zermatt, the redesigned Altitude is now more capable than ever.
Completely redesigned for 2021 their goal was to create a bike that would be competitive on today's racetracks while still being a ton of fun for regular riders in the weekends. We might not all smash racetracks and stand on podiums like Jesse Melamed, but we can all relate to the feeling of committing to ride a little faster or hitting that feature you usually skip over. The Altitude has everything that you need to take your riding to the next level.
Those that are familiar with the Rocky Mountain lineup, the popular Instinct BC and pervious Altitude models have now been combined into this newly designed 160mm, 29er Enduro platform.
SIZE SPECIFIC
Looking at the needs of shorter riders vs. taller riders, Rocky have introduced a wheelsize split on their medium Altitude frame. The Altitude is designed for high speed descending and aggressive riding, which is why they have offered four frame sizes including both size small and medium with 27.5" wheels. It's important to note in NZ we are only seeing the 29er wheeled option.
The size small frame (left image) has a visibily different silhouette than our size medium through extra large (right image) frames. Each size has a unique shock size and kinematic to ensure the desired ride quality.
SUSPENSION KINEMATIC'S
Size Specific Tune ensures that riders of all sizes get the right balance of small-bump compliance, mid-stroke support, and end-stroke progressiveness.

All new frame, ground up design with internal guides (Carbon models) and large ports (Alloy models).
Kinematics, fit & wheel size adjusted per size. Added dual bearings at the chainstay and seatstay.
Updated suspension and geomtery with an adjustable chainstay lenght to suit the rider.
