Giant's flagship XC 29er boasts a new and improved 142mm rear end with a 12mm through-axle adding stiffness to the rear swing arm and improving ride quality.
SRAM's X1 1x11-speed setup is super fast, responsive and takes the guess work out of your gear changes with only one shifter to worry about. The 10-42 cassette has your gear range covered.
The 29er wheel size rolls smoothly over obstacles and is fast on the flats and downhills. The bigger foot print provides more grip when cornering and descending to giving you the confidence to let it rip.
Weighing in at 11.2kg for a medium, this is a light and fast race machine. Testiment to this is the course record for Mount Grey in North Canterbury, a mammoth 22.4 km climb.
I'll be riding this bike for the coming season, with the first race being the solo 12-hour race at McLeans Island on October 17th. I can't wait to rip into some more rides on this beast!
