The Perfect 29er Adventure Bike

The all new ToughRoad range from Giant for 2016 has been well received, and have been heading out the door already. We are frequently asked if we have a proper touring bike. Our answer is now "yes!"

To explain what the ToughRoad is, "it’s a lightweight quick and efficient go-anywhere 29er adventure bike." Running a 29" wheel over a traditional 700c wheel offers more stability off-road and more flexibility in where the bike can be ridden. The flat handlebars provide confident handling in variable conditions and terrain.

There are 2 options in the ToughRoad, the SLR 1 and SLR 2. Both models have Giant’s ALUXX grade SLR aluminium frame and composite fork to ensure the ride is smooth. But more impressive is the weight with the SLR 2 weighing in at just 11.5kg for a medium frame! Both models have rack mounts on the frame and fork, with the SLR 1 coming equipped with racks from the get go. The SLR 1 also gets an upgraded drivetrain with SRAM's new GX 2x10.
